OPEN OFFICE CREATES STORAGE CHALLENGE FOR EMPLOYEES

For their new Toronto offices, the leaders at Dentsu Aegis Network wanted to create an open work environment that would reflect their commitment to innovation and collaboration. They wanted a flexible space that could accommodate more employees as the company grew.

The new open offices cover multiple floors of a downtown high rise, and feature a mix of workstations and collaboration areas that allow employees to choose how they want to work depending on what they’re working on.

Without permanently assigned desks or offices, employees needed a space to store their personal items so they reached out to the storage experts at Spacesaver Solutions Inc.

Modular Design Allows Staff to Rearrange Lockers to Suit Their Needs

Our Storage Experts worked with Dentsu Aegis Network to design day use lockers for their team. The concept of unassigned, day use lockers was new to the firm and they weren’t sure how employees would prefer to use them so we designed a few options to suit everyone’s needs.

The modern, black steel lockers are modular and a variety of different sizes so that they can be mixed and matched as needs change. The lockers are 3 – 5 tiers high (60”) and feature a Digilock which allows employees to access their lockers with a code.

Some employees needed secure storage for insulin and other medications that have to be refrigerated, so we designed special perforated lockers for privacy and security, with ventilation for small refrigeration units. These lockers fit in seamlessly with the other lockers at the firm.

A few weeks after the lockers had been installed, the leadership at Dentsu Aegis Network found that employees preferred their lockers to be the same size as their coworkers. Because of the modular design, we were able to rearrange the lockers to create uniform sizes for each floor.

The end result is an aesthetically pleasing personal storage system that provides security and room to grow.

When Unilever started the renovation of their Toronto offices, they knew they wanted a modern space with a focus on sustainable products. They were switching from an office environment to a hoteling system where employees would choose different work environments to suit their needs throughout the day. With a hoteling system, there is no assigned seating, so employees would need space to store their personal belongings.

Unilever wanted employee lockers that would work well and look great for a long time. So they reached out to the experts at Spacesaver Solutions Inc. for help.

Our Storage Experts worked with Unilever’s designers to create a sustainable locker solution that would fit with the new modern look of their offices, and hold up to years of daily use.

400 Five-Tier Lockers Span Two Floors of Office Space

The locker solution consists of 400 locker openings spanning two floors of the new office space. This gives Unilever enough storage for current employees while allowing for future growth.

The lockers are 5 tiers high (68″), and feature steel doors and custom vinyl number graphics. The vinyl numbers can be removed and replaced in the future, allowing Unilever to create a whole new look without the expense and environmental impact of ordering new lockers.

Unilever chose combination locks so that employees would never have to worry about losing their keys. Combination locks also don’t have any batteries that need to be changed, reducing maintenance costs in the future.

Employees now have a dedicated personal space in their hoteling environment. The staff love their new space and the look and functionality of their lockers.

It is the parent company of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Toronto FC, Argonauts, the Marlies, and development teams. EMPLOYEE LOCKERS OFFER CONVENIENT STORAGE AND ENHANCE THE LOOK OF THE NEW OFFICES

MLSE was remodelling their headquarters into a modern open office, changing from an environment with spacious desks to a benching system that would minimize storage. They wanted to make sure that each employee had a secure place of their own to leave their belongings so they reached out to the storage experts at Spacesaver Solutions Inc. for help.

MLSE wanted lockers that would store coats, winter boots, and other personal belongings in corridors located on each floor. In addition to optimizing space, the lockers needed to be sleek and streamlined to compliment the office’s modern aesthetic.

High Pressure Laminate Z Lockers Maximize Storage Space

Working with MLSE’s interior design team, our experts designed High Pressure Laminate Z Lockers with key locks and chrome door pulls. The lockers maximize space by providing a full width compartment at the top or bottom of each locker for storing shoes or bags, and a long half width compartment for coats or jackets.

Each floor of the building features a different colour scheme and the designers wanted to use the lockers to unify the spaces. Together, we chose a neutral blue-grey for the lockers that anchors each floor, while allowing the colours to pop.

The lockers are located in corridors adjacent to the work areas and offer convenient storage, making the best use of limited space, and enhancing the look of the new offices.

UNIQUE SOLUTION FOR EMPLOYEE LOCKER ROOM

A global real estate company with a lot of employees that bike to work needed a locker room with intelligent and functional lockers to ensure cleanliness and security. They reached out to the experts at Spacesaver Solutions who worked with them to design a special locker system.

CREATIVE SOLUTION TO IMPROVE AIR FLOW

The lockers needed to remove odor from sweaty clothing in the humid room so our experts designed lockers that would connect to the ventilation system in the changing room. This allows for a high air renewal rate to improve drying and eliminate odors. The day use lockers feature a built in bench seat as well as RFID locks that can be opened with the touch of an employee badge. The solid matte doors have an anti-fingerprint finish, are beautifully simple, and give the room a modern, sleek look.

MODERN AND SECURE EMPLOYEE LOCKER STORAGE FOR PERSONAL BELONGINGS IN DESK SHARING ENVIRONMENT

Nestlé Canada makes meals and treats that compliment busy days, warm sips to savour with slow moments, and nutrition solutions for different stages of life. They make it all with a drive to constantly improve their products and their company.

Nestlé Canada recently relocated their place of business to new floors in their North York office. These new floors provided a reduction in space and as a result, they made a shift to desk sharing. The new desk sharing environment created a need for a secure and personal space for employees to store their laptops and belongings.

To meet their needs, employee locker storage was required.

ALL STEEL DOORS WITH COLOURED VINYL NUMBERS

Our storage experts worked with Nestlé Canada to design a 3 tier employee locker storage system with a solid steel shell and an all steel “Overdoor” for a modern look. The 504 lockers have an opening at 15″ wide, 18″ deep, and 18″ tall allowing for plenty of space to store laptops and personal belongings. To enhance the sleek appearance of the all steel “Overdoor”, a coloured vinyl number was utilized with venting ports located in the back.

LOW MAINTENANCE LOCK WITH 4 DIGIT CODE

Management staff requested a lock that included little to no maintenance. Our tumble lock was the perfect cost-effective solution with no batteries and a simple 4 digit code that requires no keys.

GIVING STAFF A PERSONAL SPACE IN NEW DESK SHARING ENVIRONMENT

These colourful lockers are a wonderful addition to the office space allowing staff to have a personal space in their new desk sharing environment.

When we challenged Spacesaver Solutions to provide an answer for employees’ personal space within our new office configuration, they delivered an effective solution that was aesthetically pleasing and cost effective.
