ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Spacesaver Solutions recognizes its responsibility to minimize the impact we have on the environment. In doing so, we are committed to a number of “green” initiatives that relate both to the products we represent and the operational procedures we partake in each day.

SUSTAINABILITY AND LEED®

Design

Spacesaver Solutions represents a variety of manufacturers and each of their sustainability initiatives differ.

Rousseau is aware of the importance of the quality of our environment. It is therefore proud to take part in obtaining the points required for LEED®certification through its storage products such as its shelving, modular cabinets, workstations and others. Click here to see how Rousseau products can contribute to the qualifications of LEED®.

Spacesaver Corporation is committed to manufacturing products that meet the chemical off-gassing requirements as defined by the LEED® rating system. CHANGING SPACES: STORAGE SOLUTIONS FOR THE 21ST CENTURY LIBRARY

Libraries are no longer just places for research, browsing, studying, and quiet contemplation. The library’s functionality is changing from “book storage space” to “technology-rich people space.” Learn how new information formats, student expectations, steady acquisition rates, weeding, digitizing, economic conditions and sustainable design challenges can all be addressed with appropriate storage solutions and space planning.

DESIGNING ACUTE CARE ENVIRONMENTS WITH POINT OF NEED STORAGE

In this presentation we will follow medical supplies throughout the Acute Care environment in order to see how storage location and configuration, if correctly designed, can influence staff functions, staff efficiency, staff productivity, and ultimately… patient care. In addition, careful planning can produce marked improvements in inventory control–a prime importance in healthcare facilities today. Learn how to bring storage closer to the point-of-care, plan storage with sustainability in mind and understand the various storage planning considerations.

FLOOR LOADING 101

Speed up the building design and decision-making process by avoiding unnecessary delays and changes with an ability to identify the new construction building types most suitable for high-density storage. Moreover, several strategies exist to accommodate heavy storage system loads. These include the ability to reorient, redistribute, relocate, reconfigure and reinforce. This program contains an illustrated case study as well as several examples of post construction modifications and supplements for high-density storage.

HOW STORAGE CAN HELP FULFILL EXECUTIVE ORDER 13514

This presentation describes the requirements of Federal Executive Order 13514 and how storage can assist in compliance. The GSA provides some guidelines for sustainable contract actions, which we review and based on these recommendations we will demonstrate how storage can directly impact sustainable design and comply with federal regulations.

SMART STORAGE. SMARTER WORKPLACES.

This AIA/CES-registered presentation will take a look at the storage solutions typically used in several work environments: healthcare, military, public safety, library, museum, industrial and business/office. For each environment, unique storage solutions will be highlighted and explained as they relate to: aesthetics, capacity, growth, security, and speed of access. In addition, storage solutions that address the overarching challenges of budget constraints and sustainable design will be discussed.

UNDERSTAND AND WRITING SPECIFICATIONS FOR HIGH-DENSITY MOBILE STORAGE

When your client needs a high-density mobile shelving system where do you start? This presentation will help you understand the basic components of a mobile system, from the ground (rails and wheels) up (shelving and end panels). This understanding will ensure that you and your client specify exactly what you need for your project.

LAW ENFORCEMENT: STORAGE SECURED

Storage Secured will identify major storage concerns within law enforcement facilities. While identifying major storage concerns (specifically evidence), this presentation will also identify storage solutions for those concerns that maximize efficiency, save floor space, reduce construction costs, and keep criminals behind bars. Finally, the presentation will touch upon other major planning considerations for these facilities, such as floor loading and LEED® certification.

SCHOOL YOUR SPACE

A college campus is a small city. People live, eat, study, exercise, perform, and sometimes even seek medical attention within the grounds of their school. Planning spaces for higher education environments is not just about designing classrooms. Unique and thoughtful storage solutions can assist in the creation of highly functional interior spaces within the college campus environment. Let us look at some of the most common campus facilities and understand how storage can be incorporated into their design.
