HELPING REDEFINE RECORDS MANAGEMENT IN KUMBO, CAMEROON, AFRICA
KUMBO WATER AUTHORITY PROJECT
The result of Scott’s work left the KWA with a records management program that improved the quality of the water by recommending the regular documentation of the quality of water (chlorine content) that was to be reviewed and adjusted by the management staff on a regular basis. The creation of a customer based filing system allowed for proper tracking of outstanding bills. The result of properly documented customer files resulted in the KWA reducing outstanding receivables therefore being able to open more water sources in the region! Also, the resulting Policies and Procedures document allowed for the KWA to be compliant to the Regions accounting retention requirements allowing the KWA to be compliant for their yearly audit. Documents that once were considered lost or took days to locate can now be retrieved in minutes!
